Is Mark Korean-American in the comics as well? DISCUSSION

I thought his race/ethnicity was something present in the comics but I’ve been reading through them and have found no mention of it so far

My bf studied eastern languages and says that the paintings in Debbie's home are actually written in korean. Also if you look at Mark's eyes and generically at Debbie as a whole you can see that their design do represent asian features. I studied character design, and am studying animation instead

There's a painting in S1 that just says "hi" in Korean. Koreans wouldn't put something like that on their wall, it came across as very lazy. The S2 Korean wedding ducks were much better.

Heh, I don't really know what's written there, I just trusted my bf telling me It was korean. For the laziness, It fits the whole animation standard of this serie, so It doesn't really surprised me.... What do you mean by "wedding ducks"? OoO

I know I’m just reaching to explain lazy set filler, but Is it possible Mark did calligraphy as a kid and they put it on the wall instead of the fridge?

Right, but even with that Korean calligraphy is usually done in Chinese characters (hanja) rather than the Korean alphabet (hangul).
