That’s my biggest, well not exactly complaint, but I’m just like come on Mark…they told you straight up they’re coming for Earth at some point. Shouldn’t you tell Cecil and/or be training your ass off in preparation??

Fr, Pretty sure Nolan tells him that he needs to exercise too

Tbf, he did find the books of Viltrumite weaknesses and sent them back with Allen

But it's also why I love flawed characters. Mark's not perfect, and he's trying to balance his human life with his responsibilities as a superhero. I think most of us would struggle with that, and I do hope Mark can get the drive to actually train.

Yeah, he's just a kid too. He's not thinking everything through...

I think after this that illusion is going to be shattered. First Amber and now his Mom, his personal life is in fucking ruins.

All he’s going to have is the Invincible identity so he’s going to have plenty of time for training going forward.

I think he counts his time helping out as training like counting physical labor for work as exercise

I think that's what Cecil's "that time off you wanted" comment was about.

Some point in Viltrumite terms can mean “3 months to 600 years”. Then again if they honestly feel like humanity is on the road to self extinction within the next 100 years, I can see that timeline being accelerated

Mfr should have read fewer comic books and watched more DBZ growing up fr

9

u/Kinkybtch Mar 30 '24

Most DBZ seasons were just the characters training and leveling up.

Yeah, at this point, Mark is still getting tossed around by Raditz-level threats. Step it up, man.

Short of taking a vacation on Jupiter for high gravity training, what is there on Earth that he can do to push himself? He'd have to have the government build him a specialized facility.

Viltrumites get stringer by getting beat up and healing back, so just letting Immortal and Moster Girl wail on him could help.

They get Zenkai boosts, too?

No idk what this dudes talking about that’s literally just Allen. Viltrimites get stronger through training and combat experience not Zenkai boosts

They get stronger by getting the shit best out of by them? That’s how? Fuck everything about their culture and identity and just everything is so fucked.

Nono, it’s a valid complaint. I mean…at least I feel like it is. Mark’s not just fighting for himself, he’s fighting for his family and everyone he cares about…and goddamn Earth. So why the hell hasn’t he been busting his ass trying to get stronger?!
