The smartest change the show made was the replace Eve’s dad’s weirdness and toxic masculinity with classism with the superhero caste runing things for the normal people. This is so smart and makes the dad a bit more relatable.

I kinda want him to be both racist and sexist though. I want to see that panel animated

He is hilariously over the top sexist in the comic. It was a little disappointing they gave him some depth. I think also what is missed is he is also an enormous idiot besides being racist and sexist. He is still an idiot and a sexist in the show but they kind of sort of gave him an actual reason.

Still a complete idiot. "Fake food and fake gold" Bro she's literally altering the atomic structure, creating food from air, shits not fake your daughter has God level powers. In that regard, she's a slow flier and not as physically powerful as most other heroes. But she could likely create and detonate a nuke the size of a house if she wanted to so just be glad she's not a villain

In the comic he won't shut up about how Eve needs a man to protect her and downplays her powers/doesn't even know what she can do or what she is capable of. He is mad when she breaks up with Rex thinking she should just forgive him and that the only reason they trusted her in the Teen Team is because Rex was there to protect her. Then later he thanks Mark for "giving her a chance" because she wasn't a virgin and complains about how Eve turns away men by being confident, that "less confidence is attractive."

It's just comic levels of misogyny. In the show at least he shows a bit of a human side being prideful about being a "provider" and resentful of the ease in which Eve does things.

Yeah he does say some crazy shit in regard to eves relationship's. "Just forgive him" had me flabbergasted. A real father would kick that dude's ass for cheating on his daughter

He is just sexist. I think Kirkman must have been annoyed by men like that at the time and just made Eve's dad exist to kind of make fun of guys like that.

if anything i hate him even more than the comics now, calling your own daughter “you people” is crazy
