Fantasy College Basketball?

Is there such a thing as fantasy college basketball? And if any of you have done it, how does it work and what platforms are used? Fantasy basketball for the NBA is fun but I don't follow/watch it near as much as college.

I did Fantrax last year in a league someone linked on here. No idea if it's any good but I enjoyed the draft and then forgot about it two weeks later. Finished 3/6.

Thank you, never heard of Fantrax before so I'll check it out.

I use it for baseball. Took me a little time to get used to, but now that I am, it gives a ton of info and overall I enjoy it as a platform for fantasy.

Fantrax offers leagues for both CFB and CBB - it's a good platform, the most difficult part is always finding enough ppl to fill a league

Not exactly what you’re looking for but figured I’d post anyways because you/others might also be interested. Years ago I was in a team fantasy where we each took 10 schools and the only category was total wins vs D1 opponents. Really made you pay attention to the small conferences to get those teams that go anywhere from like 17-3 to 20-0 in one-two bid leagues in conference play over a 12-8 team from a major that makes the S16.

The guy who ran it kept a spreadsheet for it but he had a kid and didn’t have the time anymore so the league fell apart. I’m sure there’s people you could find who would want to run a league like this. Wish I had the time or drive to still do fantasy anymore, but hopefully you can figure out some sort of league. Looks like you got a bunch of interest already, have fun!

I've done this on fantrax for years. We have had an 8 team league with only SEC teams (all UF fans...)

The first year we did PG, SG, SF, PF, C, G/F, and F/C with a few bench and it sucked. There is no uniform way that SEC teams list positions on their rosters which filters into the player pool. Some (most?) teams only list G or F. So if someone was listed G you couldn't play them at PG or SG. There were only 4 C in the entire league.

Since then we do G, G, F, G/F, F/C, and 3 bench. It's much more enjoyable. If you have a dude that's listed on his team page as C he will show up in the player pool as F/C and not eligible at F, only in your F/C slot.

I highly recommend it but also choosing only one or a few conferences depending on how many people you want involved. Having an enormous player pool just isn't that fun (we started doing conference only leagues from football and carried that over when we discovered basketball).

There's no information or rankings or injury updates. Which is kind of fun but also makes it seem dumb as hell to participate in.

You can do daily fantasy on Fanduel and DraftKings, not sure about season long though.

Had no idea DK and FanDuel did daily fantasy for CBB, good looks. Others have commented Fantrax for season long but looks like I'd probably have to get a league started myself instead of joining one.

I help run a fantasy discord where we do a CBB fantasy league. Has been ran the past couple seasons. PM if anyone wants an invite link

I've always been interested in the idea of drafting teams at the start of the year and scoring points based on their conference and post-season performance. Too many damn players for me to have any interest drafting individual guys

I’d play.

Fantrax has both college football and basketball. I've been in leagues for both. I recommend it if you want to give it a try.

I am an NCAA college basketball fan and run a league on the Fantrax platform. Feel free to throw out any questions or message me about joining the league. It is a lot of fun to play throughout the season. It can really keep you dialed into the sport.

I’ve ran leagues on Fantrax for the past 3 years if you have any questions. Highly recommend switching to “per game” stats rather than cumulative, otherwise everyone just goes berserk stockpiling whatever players have the most games in a given period. Draft usually ends up being mostly irrelevant, too many genuinely unknown guys pop off out of nowhere and it’s a fight to notice them first.

If doing cumulative scoring is there a way to limit say one or two games per player a week with a total limit of say 15 games total for your team?
