Don’t worry. At the end of the day, it’s the cabinet members, administration staff, and even nonpartisan government officials/workers that keep the country running. The question is…whose team do you trust more?

Even is 2025 wasn’t a thing we just need to remember almost 50 of his staff members quit or were fired in trumps term and they all sucked and only worked to benefit themselves the decision is not hard. We are voting for a figure head but the people they put in charge are the ones that will fuck us up. Trumps covid response was due to the people he had I charge to manage and he failed and we lost two years why do we want to lose four more and affect our future again?

u/zekerthedog 2d ago
My student loans were forgiven because of actions taken by the Biden administration, otherwise I’d be paying for five more years.
8
u/Expert-Gift1917 2d ago
Mine weren’t because the way this administration pursued the initial 10k debt relief. Good for you though, I know Ted Cruz is pissed even anyone got something. We need a real party for the working class, not one that does the bare minimum to keep us in line.
14
u/zekerthedog 2d ago
They tried to forgive 10k and were blocked by conservative judges lol. You blame that on Biden?
-6
u/Expert-Gift1917 2d ago
I blame him for pursuing it over 2 years into his administration and using the pandemic as a legal justification (there’s precedent of presidents forgiving debt before then). The partisan judges may still have struck it down but I find the timing and process of the administration to be untrustworthy.
11
u/zekerthedog 2d ago
Conspiracy theories are fun but in reality he tried to help you and you got ratfucked by republicans. There’s no hidden secret thing here.
2
u/eastcoastelite12 2d ago
How else did you expect him to do it? The only way for those type of loans was the pandemic justification. Maybe he should have done it on day one but there was 4 years of rat fuckery that he needed to deal with. It takes time. Sorry you didn’t get want you needed but it is not for a lack of trying.
1
u/Expert-Gift1917 2d ago
The pandemic was to easy a justification to shut down since it was basically over at that point. I just want a responsive administration that isn’t beholden to large corporations and a particular foreign country… neither clown on stage last night offers that so I must go anywhere else. I’m ready for the “emperor has no pants stage”.

u/BrocolliBrad 2d ago
Funny thing about Ted Cruz is that I hear he likes to piss his pants because he likes the warm wet feeling between his legs.

u/Universoulja 2d ago

-3
u/sillyadam94 2d ago
🤷♂️you do you… that said, if they get enough votes, they qualify for federal funding and have a better chance at getting on more ballots in the future, becoming included in televised debates, and overall dismantling the two-party system. That’s why I’ll vote Green. Especially since I live in California where voting Blue is like taking a piss in the ocean.
11
2
u/GoodShitBrain 2d ago
Did you see what the Supreme Court did today? Gutted federal agency protections (Chevron deference). Imagine 4 more years of trump and an even more stacked conservative court. Alito, Thomas, Sotomayor are gonna go soon, they’ll be replaced with much younger conservative justices

u/finny_d420 2d ago
At the end of the day, I'm confident in the people Biden has appointed to his admin. We have competent intelligent qualified for the job adults doing the business of the government. Do I agree with all of their policies? No. Do I believe TFG & GQP would do a similar job? Hell no. One side may be beholden to big business/lobbyists, etc, but they are invested in a functional democracy. The other side is throwing monkey poop in conjunction with their fascists yearning, wanting to turn us into Gilead.
75
u/Curiouso_Giorgio 2d ago
Biden might be old, he might be declining cognitively, but as long as he's not put in a position where he is unilaterally making snap decisions, I think he's still capable enough, experienced enough and has surrounded himself with enough smart people to do a good job as president.
My grandpa was like Biden at the same stage in his life, and he'd get a bit confused at times, but essentially, he was as smart and as capable as when he was younger, he just took a bit longer to process things.

This is worrying that this is the best we can do… Biden def checked out over an hour ago, and Trump could barely answer a question properly and instead rambles off about stuff that has nothing to do with the question.
We need to be wise on the next election cycle cause this is utterly disappointing.

u/logicalcommenter4 ☑️ 2d ago
My concern is that so many people who would have voted for a qualified democrat are going to sit this election out because they see Biden barely holding on while he’s on stage. Trump gets convicted of felonies and his campaign takes in millions of dollars in support from his base. Trump’s fans are ALL IN and will come out to vote for him. I think that this is pretty much a done deal unfortunately. I blame the Democratic Party for banking on the fear of Trump being in office as sufficient reason for people to vote for Biden.
Biden also didn’t do himself any favors with the younger democrats when he was proud of the guns that they are providing Israel. Almost every younger democrat I know (outside of some of my Jewish friends) are against the actions that Israel is taking in Palestine and view it as a genocide. So that is a tone deaf response by Biden and doesn’t help him get more young votes.
In fact there was a poll on this done a month or so ago:
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/05/04/politics/democrats-young-biden-gaza-war
31
u/CaliGoneTexas 2d ago
I 100% agree. I personally think the main leaders in the DNC are old white boomers that don’t want to pass the torch to the younger generation bc their ideas are different and they are more diverse. They would rather take a risk on letting Trump be president and ruin the country than let the younger people in their own party take over.
12
u/Diamondhands_Rex 2d ago
We have so many younger people that the old money can’t let go of the reigns even though they will die soon. Their reality could’ve been so much better if they just loved the generations THEY created
2
u/marshallhasbananas 2d ago
The sad truth is that unironically young people don't matter because they don't show up and vote. Old people LOVE Israel, and that is who Biden is playing to.
7
u/logicalcommenter4 ☑️ 2d ago
By young I meant anyone not a boomer. I’m 41 years old and no one I know wants to vote for Biden. Many of us will still vote because we recognize the impact that the President can have on things like the Supreme Court, but I am also part of a group of people that recognize the importance of voting and the potential long lasting implications. I don’t think I represent the majority of potential voters and that is where my concern comes in. There aren’t enough boomers to make up the difference because Trump has both young and old people supporting him.

No we can’t agree on that because I actually pay attention and saying Biden is “terrible” is just wrong. That’s like saying we can all agree that Messi is terrible because he’s not good at throw ins and he plays in the US. Biden is old. Biden will probably need other people to step in in the next four years. Biden is historically terrible during debates. Biden is the most effective and progressive president the US has had in 70 years. All of these are facts

They're not actual options because there are like 20 of them, and each of them have 8 supporters that would never vote for the other ones because of one reason or another. Plus, the time to throw support behind the supposed third options is during local elections, midterms, etc, not 4 months before the general.

I’m not not voting for attention tho so people noticing or caring is irrelevant.
2
u/OneMeterWonder 2d ago
You are though. You’re doing it in implicit protest of a system you perceive as being highly flawed. Protest is inherently an attempt to initiate change in a system by bringing attention to oneself and related issues.
1
u/CCLB43 2d ago
How is it a protest when I really don’t care? I’m not even following the lies of policy change / reasons to vote that’s typically in this political season. Def. not a protest when it’s not a focus or priority.
