Set clear goals, start gently, learn the right techniques, stay hydrated, and listen to your body when starting at the gym.

No one in the gym gives a fuck about what you're doing. Don't worry about them, they're not paying attention to you. (unless you're doing something that winds you up on r/gymfails)

If you see a woman recording herself, run for your life, or better yet immediately change gyms.

Make sure to wipe down the seat after use, sometimes they'll even have a spray.

Make sure to put your weights away. Don't stack plates of different value onto one post. Make sure you put your free weights where they were, sometimes they have them in order.

Probably wear flip flops if you going to shower.

If you film yourself working out, don't expect others to acknowledge it and not walk in your shot.

Don't use your gym time to browse social media, especially if you're taking up equipment.

Bring reusable water bottle. Hydrate.

Figure out your workout regimen. Lots of youtube tutorials. Also can always just watch what the people are doing at the gym.
